Race walking engages the repetition of an extremely precise motion over an extended period of time, longer than lots of running events. Race walkers who build the effort to strengthen their arms will discover that their arm motions are more efficient, and they can rely on their arms to assist propel them forward in the latter steps of a race when they get worn-out and need further energy.
Here are six beginner tips for race walking:
01. Warm-Up and Cool Down
02. Relax, avoid stress in the neck. The jaw should also stay relaxed.
03. Head position, eyes looking around 20 yards in face of the body.
04. Keep the hands calm
05. Arms should be turned 84-90° at the elbows - at every times.
06. Swing arms freely and energetically, pivoting from the shoulders.
